African American Family Records Workshop

Save the date for this workshop dedicated to the importance of preserving Black family history for generations to come. Participants will walk away with concrete skills and a toolkit for maintaining papers and other important documents.

This workshop will be led by Samantha Hill, the Curator of Civic Engagement at the Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts.  Samantha is a Philadelphia native with a diverse career facilitating community-based arts, education, and cultural heritage projects.

This workshop from RePoint Philadelphia is a part of our Aaron Wunsch Days of Service dedicated to preserving historic places, empowering marginalized communities, and making preservation accessible to all. Originally founded by the late Penn Associate Professor Aaron Wunsch, RePoint honors Aaron’s memory by furthering his legacy of community service and multivocal preservation advocacy.
